Update 2: Shot fired, Bald Hills

A second man has been charged following a shooting incident in Bald Hills last week.
Carseldine detectives initially charged a 21-year-old man with multiple offences after an occupant in a stolen Audi Q5 allegedly shot at another vehicle before it was stopped on Elizabeth Avenue in Clontarf.
A 20-year-old Bellmere man has also been charged with acts intended to cause grievous bodily harm and unlawful use of a motor vehicle.
He is due to appear before the Sandgate Magistrates Court tomorrow.
The 21-year-old Deception Bay man is expected to appear in June.

Suspicious car fires, Centenary Division

Detectives are investigating three suspicious car fires which occurred within the Centenary Division between the April 16 and 17.
At approximately 3:30am on April 16, offenders have attended an address at Huon Place, Forest Lake and set a gold 1991 Nissan Pathfinder on fire, before leaving the scene.
At approximately 11:20pm that evening, offenders have driven a stolen grey 2020 Toyota RAV 4 to Sunbird Street, Inala and set it on fire.  This car was stolen from Benier Close, Doolandella on April 15.
At approximately 4:50am on April 17, offenders have driven a stolen grey 2005 Honda Accord to Pelican Street, Inala and set it on fire.  The Honda Accord was stolen from Kathleen Street, Richlands between April 15 and 16.
Police are seeking anyone with any CCTV footage or dashcam vision to contact police in relation to these matters

Update – Police shooting, Oxley

A 42-year-old man has faced a bedside hearing on 13 charges following a series of alleged incidents in Oxley last week.
Shortly before 2pm on Thursday April 9, police responded to a series of incidents from Darra to Oxley.
A short time later, officers located an armed man in Oxley Station Road.
The man was shot by police when he ran at an officer while brandishing a knife.
He was taken to hospital and remains there in a stable condition under police guard.
The Darra man has been charged with assault occasioning bodily harm whilst armed, serious assault police, going armed to cause fear, armed robbery, unlawful use of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, attempted robbery, stealing and wilful damage.
He has been remanded to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court on July 13.
The matter is subject to investigations by Ethical Standards Command with oversight by the Crime and Corruption Commission.

Update: Serious assault, Capalaba

Detectives investigating a dispute between the drivers of two vehicles in Capalaba on Monday, April 6 have charged a man.
Around 4pm a 71-year-old man drove his gunmetal grey VW Amarok dual cab ute to the intersection of Redland Bay Road and Neuman Road.
It is alleged the occupants of a white Kia Cerato, a man and woman, exited their vehicle and approached him.
A verbal exchange occurred between the elderly man and the woman as he sat in his vehicle, before the man allegedly punched him a number of times through the driver’s side window.
The 28-year-old Mitchelton man was arrested and charged with serious assault of a person over 60.
He is due to appear in the Cleveland Magistrates Court on April 30.

Thieves target garages in multi-residential living areas

Fortitude Valley and Brisbane City Police wish to advise residents that there has been an number of incidents where thieves have gained unlawful access to unsecured and secure car parks of unit complexes and apartment blocks in the central suburbs of Brisbane.
Over the past three days, thieves have targeted a number of garages and storage cages/ sheds in the following multi-residential living areas:

Bowen Hills – King Street and Hurworth Street:
Herston – Clyde Road;
Kelvin Grove – Kelvin Grove Road;
Newstead – Evelyn Street and;
Spring Hill – Gregory Terrace.

Items targeted for theft have included:

Property in unlocked vehicles;
Motorcycles;
Bicycles and;
Sporting equipment.

In a number of these cases, person/s were observed acting suspiciously in or around the targeted garage areas, however unfortunately, these activities were not reported immediately to police.
Police recommend the following garage and vehicle security tips:

Police officer reinstated, Brisbane Region

A 35-year-old constable from Brisbane Region who was stood down from official duty with the Queensland Police Service will now return to operational duties.
The officer was stood down on April 9, 2019 in relation to inappropriate access to confidential Queensland Police Service information. This matter has now been finalised with the officer receiving a disciplinary sanction.
