Police have charged a woman after a man sustained an alleged stab wound in Gaythorne this afternoon.
It will be alleged that around 12.15pm, a man and a woman were involved in an altercation at a home on Bere Street.
During the altercation, a man sustained an alleged stab wound to his chest from a pair of scissors.
He managed to leave the home and walked around 50 metres to a pay phone to call police.
He was later transported to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital for the treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
A 50-year-old woman was located and arrested a short time later.
She has been charged with one count of wounding (domestic violence offence) and will appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court tomorrow.

Kenmore South State School Targeted By Fraudulent Invoice Scam
The Kenmore South State School and Helensvale State High School, both in Queensland, almost fell prey to fraudulent invoice scams. Both schools received invoices for payment, both for “consultancy fees.”
Kenmore South State High School received an invoice for $26,000 while Helensvale State High School received one for $42,000. Both invoices were identified as fraudulent and were not paid.
In August, the Brisbane City Council was scammed of $450,000 by fraudsters posing as suppliers, who tricked the BCC into changing the bank details for payments. Close to half a million dollars was made by the BCC in nine payments to a false account.

Kenmore Montessori Among The Childcare Centres Ranked “Excellent”
A study on the quality of care provided by childcare and family day cares in Queensland has revealed that only 15 out of more than 600 childcare operators passed the national quality framework standards set in 2012.
Kenmore & District Montessori Childrens House is one of the 15 that ranked “Excellent” and exceeded national quality standards in the study, which was conducted by the Australian Children’s Education & Care Quality Authority (ACECQA).
The school, which caters to children from six months to school entry age, follows the Montessori Method of education established by Dr. Maria Montessori.
