Families looking for ways to keep children entertained during the winter school holidays will find plenty to explore at Kenmore Library, with a program of stories, crafts, technology and hands-on activities running throughout the break.

Brisbane’s 2026 winter school holidays run from Saturday, 27 June to Sunday, 12 July, following the end of Term 2 on Friday, 26 June, with Term 3 beginning on Monday, 13 July. During the holiday period, Kenmore Library is hosting activities for babies through to older children, alongside regular community programs for adults. Most sessions are free, with some requiring bookings.
First 5 Forever children’s storytime

30 June and 7 July
Children aged two to five can enjoy interactive storytime sessions featuring stories, songs and mark-making activities that encourage early literacy and learning through play.
Bookings are not required, although places are limited and entry may close if the session reaches capacity.
Make and Create

30 June and 7 July
Children aged four to 12 can drop in and take part in free art and craft activities during the school holidays.
Bookings are not required.
First 5 Forever Toddler Time

1 July and 8 July
Toddlers aged one to two and their carers can enjoy sessions featuring singing, clapping, dancing, action rhymes and songs that support early literacy, communication, language and social skills.
Bookings are not required, although places are limited and entry may close if the session reaches capacity.
First 5 Forever Babies, Books and Rhymes

1 July and 8 July
Parents and carers with babies up to one year old can take part in songs, action rhymes, singing and movement activities designed to support babies’ early literacy, communication, language and social development.
The sessions also give parents and carers an opportunity to meet other families with young babies.
Family STEAM

1 July and 9 July
Children of all ages and their families can explore science, technology, engineering, arts and mathematics through games and activities featuring robotics, coding, science, communication and art.
Bookings are not required.
Community Immunisation Clinic

2 July
A free community immunisation clinic will be held at Kenmore Library on 2 July for eligible residents aged six weeks and older.
The clinic provides vaccinations that help protect against diseases including influenza, measles, whooping cough, polio and tetanus.
Bookings are not required.
One-on-One Tech Help

2 July and 9 July
Residents can contact Kenmore Library to enquire about individual technology assistance to troubleshoot technical issues, build digital skills and improve confidence using online services.
The sessions form part of the Brisbane Libraries Tech Connect program.
Kenmore Craft Group

3 July and 10 July
Community members are invited to bring along their current craft project and share ideas with fellow participants over a cup of tea.
Bookings are not required.
Create a Buzzy Bee Bowl

3 July
The Create a Buzzy Bee Bowl workshop has already booked out.
The session introduces children aged five to 12 and their carers to the role bees and other pollinators play in gardens before participants plant a flower bowl designed to attract pollinators.
Sensory Friendly Make and Create

10 July
Children aged five to 11 who are neurodivergent or experience sensory sensitivity or sensory overload, together with their carers, can take part in a sensory-friendly creative session.
Participants can choose to craft, build or draw while creating their own project. Bookings are required.
