Police Appeal for More Information After Woman Assaulted While Walking in Brookfield

Police are appealing for information after a woman in her 20s was sexually assaulted by a man unknown to her while walking along Brookfield Road in Brisbane’s west on Thursday morning.

Detectives from the Ferny Grove Criminal Investigation Branch are investigating the incident, which occurred on the morning of 20 August.

Initial investigations indicate the woman was walking along Brookfield Road, approaching the Brookfield Road bridge, at about 6.33am when she was stopped by the man and assaulted.

Police said the man, who was described as wearing black shorts and a black jumper, fled the area on foot following the assault.

As part of the investigation, police searched the area around the bridge, including dense bushland and a gully beneath the bridge.

Detectives and specialist police were also deployed to the Brookfield area. Police said the matter was being treated as an isolated incident, with local general duties officers conducting increased patrols to ensure community safety.

Police Appeal for Dashcam Footage

Investigators are asking anyone who was driving or walking along Brookfield Road between 5.45am and 6.45am on 20 August, Thursday to come forward.

In particular, police are seeking anyone who may have dashcam footage from the area during that period. Anyone with information that could assist the investigation can contact Policelink.
