Police from the Inner West Crime Prevention Unit were invited to attend the Little Ducks Childcare at Bardon and speak with the centre’s pre-school and kindergarten students.
During the visit the students got to learn about being a police officer and they can always talk to a police officer about any problems. They learnt about personal safety, positive behaviours and road safety “being a safe car passenger”.
The children learnt that we can sometimes be hard to find if we are a small person. When you go out with your family and if you get lost to look for a police officer or another official person for help.
Parents are advised to have a plan and to discuss strategies with their children before actually leaving for events such as shopping.
It can be quite traumatic for a child when Mum or Dad gets lost at unfamiliar places. Before leaving it is a great idea
