How do I report something to the Police?

Inner West Police are receiving information that members of the public and local businesses are witnessing criminal offences, suspicious activities and acts of anti-social behaviour occurring within their respective Inner West suburbs.
However, there has been many occasions where these activities have only been reported or discussed on social media sites, community chat rooms or to their respective council or state members etc and not to the police.
Unfortunately, in these occasions, police have not been advised of these occurrences and have subsequently been unable to respond or attend to these issues in a timely manner or have knowledge of these matters.
Inner West Police are urging their residents and local business owners to report police related matters directly to them, rather than by other means, so that they can deal with these occurrences in a timely and efficient manner.
Listed below is the correct method of reporting police related matters to Police:

Policing the Toowong area

Over the past few weeks there has been a  number of news articles and social media reports referencing crime in the Toowong area and a call for a fixed police beat at the Toowong Shopping Centre.
As the Patrol Inspector for the area, I would like to provide some comment on the issue from a Queensland Police Service perspective.
The Queensland Police Service has implemented numerous strategies to monitor and address issues of community safety not just in the Toowong area but across the Inner West Patrol Group.  The strategies include

crime prevention assessments and support,
community engagement,
intelligence assessments  and
highly visible proactive policing patrols.

The strategies and methodologies used by the Queensland Police Service to deliver community safety, are continually evolving and adjusting in response to reported crime, anti-social behaviour and information provided by the community.
It should be noted that current policing methodologies are flexible, agile and intelligence driven and the purpose built “bricks and

Eight lives lost in 72 hours

Several serious crashes over the weekend have prompted police to issue a warning to motorists to drive responsibly.
This weekend alone has seen eight lives lost on Queensland’s roads with a number of others now suffering serious injuries.
In the early hours of Sunday morning, four lives were lost in Townsville when a car flipped after clipping a roundabout. This was after an infant died in a single vehicle traffic crash in Mackay on Saturday afternoon.
Two men also died in a three-vehicle collision around 3.30pm on Sunday afternoon at Bethania.
Later Sunday night, a collision occurred between a car and a truck on the Warrego Highway at Oakey. An altercation has occurred between the two drivers when the driver of the car attempted to grab hold of the truck as it drove off and was thrown into oncoming traffic.
A 19-year-old man was transported to hospital with serious injuries.
Around 2.30am Monday morning, police were

Armed robbery, Sunnybank

Police are investigating the armed robbery of a convenience store in Sunnybank Hills early yesterday morning.
Around midnight, two men wearing red bandanas across their faces entered the Pinelands Road service station and approached the counter.
One demanded cash from the 23-year-old male attendant while the second made threats while holding a knife.
The first attempted to climb under the counter while the attendant opened the cash register and handed over the till. The two fled towards Farne Street on foot.
No one was physically injured.
The first offender was wearing a grey hoodie, dark coloured trackpants and grey shoes with a white stripe.
The second was wearing a black hoodie, dark coloured pants and grey sports shoes with a blue outline.
They were both wearing gloves and had bags, one blue, the other black.
Investigations are continuing.

Queensland road safety mid-year snapshot

Police are urging motorists to make better decisions on the roads with a mid-year report revealing an eight per cent increase in the number of fatal traffic crashes across Queensland.
A total of 91 lives have been lost on Queensland roads in the first five months of 2020, up from 84 at the same time last year.
Motorcyclists were highly represented in the figures, with one in four of all fatalities either motorcycle riders or  passengers.
Road Policing Command Superintendent David Johnson said police were very concerned with trends in road trauma for the year so far.
“Despite less travel occurring on our roads so far this year due to COVID-19, we are seeing more trauma and that is a troubling.
“Importantly, many of the fatal traffic crashes which have occurred could have been prevented.
“Day-in and day-out, we are seeing road users make poor decisions on our roads and tragically, these decisions are having devastating
