Thieves targeting vehicles in Auchenflower

Police from the Inner West Patrol Group are warning vehicle owners and drivers that within the past few days, thieves have targeted a number of vehicles in the Auchenflower area.

The targeted vehicles have been physically broken into both during the day and night.
The targeted locations have included residential garages, communal underground carparks, driveways, carports and vehicles parked on the street.
A number of the vehicles broken into had valuable items in full view and had also been left unsecured at the time of the offence.
These factors have made it much easier for thieves to help themselves at the expense of the vehicle’s owner or driver.
Police are urging owners and drivers of vehicles to be vigilant and ensure their respective vehicles are secure at all times and not to openly display valuable and attractive items in their vehicles.
Putting it simply ‘Lock it or Lose it’.
Police have increased patrols and are conducting crime

Harmony Day visit – Jindalee

Today March 21, is Harmony Day; the twentieth anniversary of Harmony Day in fact. Harmony Day is the United Nations International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
Harmony Day is about inclusiveness, respect and belonging for all Australians, regardless of cultural or linguistic background; united by a set of core Australian values.
This year’s theme is #standtogether and #everyonebelongs.
Our Jindalee State School Adopt-a-Cops from the Centenary North Police Beat attended the school today to speak to the students about Harmony day.
After speaking with students during lunch we all agreed that treating other people like we want them to treat us is a really good place to start.
We discussed respect for each other and how it is much more fun to include others in our day then exclude them.
We spoke about not being a bystander and if someone is being mean or bullying someone else we need to make sure we tell someone
