Officers from Capalaba’s Tactical Crime Squad have charged four men with drug trafficking following the closure of Operation Quebec Crust which commenced in January of last year.
Police executed a total of 14 search warrants on addresses throughout Brisbane’s greater bayside where it will be alleged 25 kilograms of cannabis was located including $149,000 cash at one Alexandra Hills address last week.
A 50-year-old Alexandra Hills man, 61-year-old man from Cairns, 47-year-old Wakerley man and a 50-year-old Redland Bay man were arrested as a result charged with drug trafficking and other drug related offences.
They are expected to appear in the Cleveland Magistrates Court next month.
So far, 39 people have been charged on a total of 308 drug and firearm related offences including 168 counts of supplying dangerous drugs as part of the operation.
A total of 39 kilograms of cannabis, amphetamine and performance enhancing drugs with a street value in excess of $284,000

Police are seeking assistance from the public to help locate a man who robbed a woman at knife point in Forest Lake overnight.
At 8.15pm a woman was sitting at a bus stop on Forest Lake Boulevard, when a man confronted her with a knife and demanded her phone.
The woman complied and the man who is described as being a thin build, wearing a black jumper and track pants, was last seen running down Forest Lake Boulevard.
The woman, who was not known to the man, was not physically injured.
Police located the mobile phone in a rubbish bin in a park on the corner of Joseph Banks, and Woodland Avenues, Forest Lake.
Police are requesting anyone who may have witnessed the incident or have dash cam footage, to contact police.

Queensland Police are seeking public assistance to help locate a man and believe he may be travelling in a silver 2005 Toyota Prado station wagon (pictured) with cancelled registration 690LUI. He likely to be sleeping in this car in public spaces and parkland at unknown locations between the Sunshine Coast and the Gold Coast.
John Amundsen (pictured) failed to appear in court in relation to a stalking matter on Brisbane’s north side.
He was last seen at an address in Aspley last week and police are currently trying to locate him.
Preliminary investigations indicate he may be using public transport to travel around Brisbane and between Brisbane and the Gold Coast.
He is described as Caucasian in appearance, approximately 170cm tall, of a slim build with a shaved head and blue eyes. He sometimes has grey facial hair. He may also be wearing glasses.

Coffee with a Cop is a Queensland Police Service initiative aimed at connecting with the community over a coffee and chat.
PCYC Hills District invite you to their very first Coffee with a Cop event where you can address any questions to your local police, learn crime prevention tips and keep up to date with current trends in the Ferny Grove Police division.
All are welcome – even if you don’t enjoy a coffee, we’ll have tea on hand too!

In December 2018, the QPS and RACQ launched a joint initiative to help prevent motorcycles being stolen.
Together, the campaign incorporates educational material and a social media presence to remind riders to take security precautions.
Did you know that between 2012 to 2018, 281 motorcycles were stolen within Brisbane alone?
96% of those motorcycles stolen were not fitted with a security device!
Of the 281 motorbikes reported stolen over the 7-year period, 127 (49%) were taken from parking bays, 138 (49%) were taken from a residence and eight (6%) taken from businesses.
The project is focusing on creating community participation through the engagement of various stakeholders and educating riders across the board.
It is the project’s aim to remind members of the community that if they see or hear suspicious behaviour involving thefts of motorcycles to take-action immediately.

Constable Casey with Inspector Tony Ridge, Deputy Principle Maureen Bailey and the school’s captains Luka and Daniel.
On Monday, February 18, Patricks Road State School officially adopted and welcomed in their new Adopt-a-Cop, Constable Casey Denais from the Ferny Grove Police Division.
During the adoption ceremony ‘Constable Casey’ (as she will be known to her school community) and the school captains were each presented with a formal certificate of adoption by Inspector Tony Ridge, the Patrol Services Inspector for the Inner West Patrol Group.
Constable Casey said she had joined the program to help build and foster a positive relationship between the police and junior members of the community.
She is looking forward to actively participating in school activities, particularly sporting events and is excited to be part of their extended family.
Inner West Police wish Constable Casey all the success in her new role as the official Adopt-a-Cop for the Patricks Road State School!

A fight over nothing, changed everything; it’s a short slogan but police urge everyone to think about the lasting impacts of alcohol fuelled violence this orientation week.
Whilst understanding that everyone can go out and have a good time and enjoy a few drinks, police are asking those who are out and having a great time, to stop and take check of their behaviour.
In particular, remember to look out for your mates and think before you drink – by taking stock of your own situation, and that of your mates, you’ll better be able to think in the moment and be less likely to act out in aggression.

To ensure a safe night for all, police have the following tips:

Watch your mates;
Know your limits;
Drink some water between each drink; and
Have a plan to get home safe when you call it a night.

Commissioner Ian Stewart today joined police and emergency services from across the country to launch the Uniforms 4 Kids initiative at Queensland Police Service Headquarters.
Uniforms 4 Kids is a not-for-profit charity, founded by retired QPS officer Yvonne Pattinson OAM, aimed at repurposing uniforms for disadvantaged children within the community. Since the program’s inception, QPS uniforms have been repurposed for Indigenous children across Australia and also children in the Pacific Islands and Papua New Guinea.
As an Official Ambassador for the initiative, Commissioner Stewart said it was an honour to be part of such a worthwhile initiative. Today’s launch was also supported by key figures including His Excellency the Honourable Paul de Jersey AC, Governer of Queensland, The Honourable Mark Ryan MP Minister for Police, The Hononourable Peter Dutton MP Minister for Home Affairs and Commissioner Andrew Colvin of the Australian Federal Police.
