A direct bus connection to Moggill District Sports Park will begin on September 21, giving local residents a new way to reach the sporting precinct for training, games, and community events.

Route 444 will be extended to the sports park as part of a two-year trial, with two new stops added at Moggill District Sports Park and Priors Pocket Road near Moggill Road.
The new stops are intended to improve connections between local schools and the sports park, offering students another transport option. The extended services will operate in the afternoons on weekdays and throughout weekends during the trial.
Afternoon and weekend services

The service will run hourly towards Moggill District Sports Park from 2.49pm to 9.04pm on weekdays, while services towards Brisbane City will operate hourly from 3.07pm to 9.07pm.
Weekend services will also run hourly. On Saturdays, buses towards the sports park will operate from 7.54am to 5.56pm, while Sunday services will run from 7.53am to 5.54pm. Buses towards Brisbane City will operate from 8am to 6pm on both days.
The extension will give Route 444 passengers direct access to the sports park, providing direct public transport access to the precinct for the first time. For local sporting families, the new service offers another transport option for getting to training and weekend matches.

Moggill Cricket Club president Paddy Behan said improved public transport could help remove one of the barriers to children taking part in community sport, particularly for families without easy access to a car.
Moggill Mustangs Junior AFL Club president Jan Hodges also welcomed the extension, saying better transport access would make it easier for families to attend training and games.
The two-year trial will allow patronage and use of the extended service to be evaluated, with the results helping assess whether additional or expanded services are needed.

New footpath to improve access
The bus extension will also coincide with a new footpath connection near the sports precinct. A new footpath between Moggill District Sports Park and Priors Pocket Road is due to be constructed from late September. The project is intended to improve safety and accessibility for people travelling to and from the facility.
The extension was announced by Transport and Main Roads Minister Brent Mickelberg and Moggill MP Christian Rowan.
Translink advises checking the timetable before travelling because the sports park and Priors Pocket Road stops will only be served by the extended afternoon and weekend services.
