Policing the Toowong area

Over the past few weeks there has been a  number of news articles and social media reports referencing crime in the Toowong area and a call for a fixed police beat at the Toowong Shopping Centre.
As the Patrol Inspector for the area, I would like to provide some comment on the issue from a Queensland Police Service perspective.
The Queensland Police Service has implemented numerous strategies to monitor and address issues of community safety not just in the Toowong area but across the Inner West Patrol Group.  The strategies include

crime prevention assessments and support,
community engagement,
intelligence assessments  and
highly visible proactive policing patrols.

The strategies and methodologies used by the Queensland Police Service to deliver community safety, are continually evolving and adjusting in response to reported crime, anti-social behaviour and information provided by the community.
