Further state border restrictions on Gold Coast

Further restrictions are being put in place for state border control on the Gold Coast to help reduce the spread of COVID-19.
From 12.01am Friday April 3, 2020 anyone who is not a Queensland resident or considered exempt from the restrictions will not be able to enter the state.
Chief Superintendent Mark Wheeler said unless you are a Queensland resident or have an exemption such as you work here or are required to travel for medical reasons, or are involved in freight transportation, you will be refused entry.
“These strict measures are about safe guarding Queensland and minimising the spread of the virus,” Chief Superintendent Wheeler said.
“Community members should avoid all non-essential cross border travel.”
Water barriers and police check points will be put in place and operating at Coolangatta from 12.01am on Friday April 2, 2020 to further control the movement between Queensland and New South Wales.
