The new academic year is quickly approaching, but before it does, students will be flocking and returning to university campuses for Orientation Week.
We know this week is about settling in, making new friends and having fun before the study commences, but we also want it to be about something else.
When making the time to celebrate new beginnings and new friends, please keep your own and your friends’ safety in mind.
Everyone likes to celebrate and perhaps enjoy a drink or two, but we all have our limits.
Please stick to yours and watch out for your friends when heading out.
To ensure a safe night for all, police have the following tips:
Watch your mates;
Know your limits;
Drink some water between each drink; and
Have a plan to get home safe when you call it a night.
