On Wednesday, January 29, Police and Volunteers in Policing (ViP) from the Inner West Crime Prevention Unit were invited to speak with the residents at the AVEO Taringa Retirement Village.

The visit proved to be extremely popular with the approximate 60 residents who attended the talk.
The visit included an informal presentation on several personal and property security related topics and allowed the residents the opportunity to ask questions, both during the presentation and the following morning tea (which may we say was absolutely scrumptious).
Topics covered during the police presentations included:
Keeping ourselves safe and secure in our home environments;
Personal security awareness whilst being out and about, including shopping and utilising public transport etc;
Use of the myPolice network;
Keeping our money safe;
Scam awareness and how to avoid being targeted by scammers;
Being safe on the road and keeping our cars safe and;
