Police have observed that offenders have recently committed offences in the Taringa area by gaining entry to secured car parks and common areas.
These offenders are then entering vehicles and storage cages to steal property.
Police are reminding residents to remove all valuable items, including unit keys and building access cards, from their vehicles, even in secured car parks.
We are encouraging residents to be alert and to secure their units, vehicles and storage areas.
Some tips:
Keep your balcony screens locked at all times, including night-time
Don’t allow unauthorised visitors access to the building
Don’t prop open communal doors
Check garage doors close completely so potential offenders can’t sneak in
