On Sunday, November 10, I attended a slightly different type of policing operation.
Unfortunately, a bat with two pups had become entangled on power lines and the mother sadly died.
However, the two pups survived and one was still attached to mum on the power line.

Police were called as the position of the bat was quite precarious near a major intersection and needed traffic control.
There was also a wildlife carer looking after the other pup so it fell to two of our remarkable police officers to be in position to catch the pup if it let go of mum.
Constable Kate Sherratt, who is coincidentally an international level soccer player for the Australian Army and Constable Lyndsey Askew volunteered for the task.
