A day to remember and honour officers of the Thin Blue Line

On Friday, September 27, members of the Queensland Police Service (QPS) and the community pause to remember the police officers who have lost their lives serving the public of Queensland and those officers who have fallen both on duty and off duty under other circumstances.
This significant day also recognises the unique nature of policing and the dangers that police face in their daily pursuits whilst serving and protecting our community.
National Police Remembrance Day (NPRD) holds particular significance in the Inner West Police District, as on this day we pause to remember the loss of Constable Brett Andrew Irwin from the Ferny Grove Police Station, who was tragically killed in the line of duty at Keperra on July 18, 2007.
Inner West Police also utilise this auspicious day to remember the memory of their beloved fellow Inner West Police colleagues who have passed through non operational circumstances.
