Police support 17th Marist College Sony Camp

Police from the Brisbane Dog Squad and Inner West Crime Prevention Unit had the privilege of attending and supporting the Marist College Ashgrove, 17th Sony Camp on Tuesday, September 24.
The camp’s aim is to provide four days of fun for children between the ages of 5 and 15-years-old, with physical and intellectual disabilities, at no expense to the children’s parents.
The camp also provides parents, their siblings and primary carers with a break from caregiving.
Happy times with officers at the Sony Camp
The camp program is supported by volunteer Year 12 students from Marist College Ashgrove and Mount Alvernia College Kedron, who are responsible (along with qualified adult carers) for the care of these children 24 hours a day over the course of the camp.
The students quickly learn about the challenges and demands involved in caring for a child with special needs.
Big thumbs for QPS involvement in the 2019 Sony Camp
