Inner West Police are advising residents in the Ashrgove area to secure their residences and property.
In the last 24 hours, thieves have attended residences on Lindsay Street and Celia Street.
The thieves have stolen items including laptops, wallets, handbags and jewellery.
Opportunistic offenders are mainly gaining entry by climbing through windows or walking through unlocked doors, including garage doors.
These methods at times are occurring while the residents are home, which are called “sneak breaks”.
Police have increased patrols in this area and residents are encouraged to be vigilant, secure homes and vehicles, record details of electronic equipment and photograph valuable items such as jewellery.
