Putting road safety first on our mountains

The Inner West Patrol Group are encouraging community members to put road safety first leading into Queensland Road Safety Week.
This weekend, Inner West police will hold events to launch the Mt Zero campaign.
On Saturday, August 24 from 8.30am to 11am, officers will be at Mt Coot-tha Lookout to help spread the road safety message to road users.
On Sunday, August 25, police and representatives from the Department of Transport and Main Roads and Neighbourhood Watch, will be attending the Mount Glorious Cafe from 8am to 11am to continue spreading the message.

The Mt Zero campaign was first launched in 2014 to raise awareness of the dangers of mountain roads surrounding Mt Coot-tha, Mt Nebo and Mt Glorious.
Some of the common causal factors of accidents on the mountains in our region include speed, lack of driver and rider experience, driver or rider error, motorcycle visibility and collision with other vehicles.
