Brisbane Water Police continue to coordinate an air, sea and land search for two men missing in Moreton Bay since Saturday, August 10.
Officer-in-Charge of Brisbane Water Police Senior Sergeant Dave Edden said water police with the assistance of volunteer agencies will continue searching today. Air support will again be provided by PolAir and Rescue 500 helicopters.
“A significant search conducted yesterday by PolAir, Rescue 500, Water Police, Volunteer Marine Rescue, Coast Guard, Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron and the State Emergency Service failed to locate the men or any further items,” Senior Sergeant Edden said.
The pair were reported overdue and missing to police after contacting family around 10.15pm Saturday to advise that they were returning to shore.
After an extensive search, their boat, a blue 3.3m aluminium tinnie, was located submerged near Green Island at around 5pm on Sunday, August 11.
