Vehicle security reminder

Police are appealing to community members in the Brisbane Inner West area to remain vigilant with their vehicle security after 65 vehicles had property stolen from them since the start of July.
The suburbs experiencing the most theft from cars are Toowong and Auchenflower with a total of 20 cars broken into in both suburbs.
Indooroopilly, Bardon, Kenmore, Gaythorne and Everton Park also had 20 cars broken into altogether.
Unknown offender/s have stolen number plates, tools from tool boxes, wallets, cash, credit cards, laptops, keys left in vehicles and in some cases, there were vehicles that were left unlocked and property were stolen.

Police recommend implementing these safety tips to keep your vehicle safe:

Always lock your vehicle, including the boot and sunroof and remember to fully close all windows;
Always keep your keys out of sight and never leave vehicle keys lying around on tables, benches, bedside tables or key hooks;
Remove keys from the ignition
