Is it time to review your business security?

Police urge business owners to conduct an assessment of their premises as offenders are targeting small shops, convenience stores and newsagents in the Brisbane West area.
The offenders are in search of cash and cigarettes, they are working in groups and break in to premises in the middle of the night.
For the safety of your business and your employees, police recommend reviewing your current security systems.
Perhaps it’s time to revise some of the following:

Locking doors and windows and installing security screens and appropriate lighting;
Review locks and security on external sheds, containers and other storage facilities;
Review cash handling and banking procedures;
Warning signs/stickers to deter intruders e.g. No cash on premises;
Consider CCTV cameras and alarms;
Reporting any suspicious behaviour to police to prevent and solve crime.

Police are aware of crime trends surrounding these business and have increased extra patrols to reduce repeat offences.
