Recently there have been a number of unauthorised entries to motor vehicles within the Inner West Police District which have included the theft of number plates.
Some of these stolen number plates have been used in other criminal offences across Brisbane, such as fuel drive offs.
On Tuesday, June 18, members from the Shed West at Kenmore participated in a turning the screws on crime event by having anti-theft number plate screws fitted to their private vehicles.
The fitment of the one-way security screws to registration number plates physically prevents the unlawful removal of number plates and their subsequent unlawful use in other offences.
Inner West Patrol Group crime prevention officers maintain a close working relationship with many community groups within the Inner West Division, such as Shed West.
