Personal safety tips when handling money

There may be persons in your community who will take advantage of opportunistic situations to obtain property
As the result of a recent opportunistic unarmed robbery that occurred in the Inner West Division, police are encouraging the public to review their practices in handling and displaying amounts of money in public places.
The victim in this instance was observed winning a large sum of money at a venue by the offenders.
The offenders have then followed the victim on foot from the venue, waited for an opportune time and place, confronted and then robbed the victim of their cash winnings.
This unfortunate event has highlighted the fact that there are persons in our community who will take advantage of opportunistic situations to obtain property via unlawful means.
Police recommend the following simple personal security measures and strategies be utilised when either withdrawing, receiving and handling monies in public places and venues:
