Police from the Inner West Patrol Group (IWPG) are advising residents that within recent weeks, thieves have been targeting vehicles in the Inner West areas.
Disturbingly, in a large number of cases the vehicles were not locked.
Whilst the actual number is not high, from experience we know that if we make it easy for criminals, they have a tendency to return and also pass this information onto associates.

Thieves are mainly stealing car keys and then vehicles, laptops, wallets, handbags and jewellery.
Police are asking residents to be vigilant, secure their homes and vehicles, record details of electronic equipment and photograph valuable items such as jewellery.
Police within the IWPG will continue to focus patrols in order to reduce these types of offences.
