Police urge everyone to think before they drink this O week

A fight over nothing, changed everything; it’s a short slogan but police urge everyone to think about the lasting impacts of alcohol fuelled violence this orientation week.
Whilst understanding that everyone can go out and have a good time and enjoy a few drinks, police are asking those who are out and having a great time, to stop and take check of their behaviour.
In particular, remember to look out for your mates and think before you drink – by taking stock of your own situation, and that of your mates, you’ll better be able to think in the moment and be less likely to act out in aggression.

To ensure a safe night for all, police have the following tips:

Watch your mates;
Know your limits;
Drink some water between each drink; and
Have a plan to get home safe when you call it a night.
