Detectives have charged a man over the alleged theft of a car in Oxley and the burglary of an 85-year-old woman’s home in Kenmore this week.
It will be alleged a 35-year-old Raceview man stole a black Nissan Patrol from a hotel on Oxley Road, Oxley at around 6:30pm on Wednesday.
It will be further alleged that the man parked the stolen 4WD in front of a house on Lochiel Street at Kenmore yesterday afternoon and followed the resident, an 85-year-old woman, into her property when she arrived home around 2pm.
Once in the garage, it will be alleged the man attempted to open the internal door to the house as the woman was closing it.
After a struggle with the door, the woman managed to close and lock it. She then heard the man yelling violently and attempting to gain entry through the door.
