The Queensland Police Service (QPS) has resolved a technical issue which impacted some banning notice information.
The QPS is responsible for the transfer of banned person data to the ID scanner network introduced for relevant premises in Safe Night Precincts.
Ongoing monitoring of data quality identified on November 8 that some banning orders had prematurely expired on a QPS system.
The issue has since been fixed and no further instances of premature expiry of banning notice data have occurred.
As of December 5 there are 857 active banning notices on the QPS system.
A QPS analysis has revealed that banned person information for 116 people had prematurely expired between September 29 and November 22.
Of those 116 people, two were detected within an SNP (not within licensed premises) for offences during the period in which they were banned.
The initial offences related to public nuisance and obstruct police in one instance and stealing in the other matter.
