Flashback to the storm of the decade: are you prepared?

Ready for storm season?
The biggest storm in decades to hit the city on the afternoon of Sunday November 16, 2008 and was declared a natural disaster.
It has been ten years since that storm event, which had affected residents of The Gap and Ferny Grove police divisions, bringing wild wind gusts and hail that unroofed homes and knocked over trees and powerlines.
Senior Constable Daniel Loth said the evening of November 16 stands out as a dramatic one for Ferny Grove station.
“While I was in the station I heard the fronts doors to blow out,” Senior Constable Loth said
“Shortly after the roof caved in at the front of the station some 2 metres from the front counter after the gum tree on Tramway Street fell on top of the Police station.”
