On Wednesday September 19, Inner West Police continued their long-term cooperative Road Safety Operations with Department of Transport and Main Roads (TMR), targeting behaviours and vehicle issues that lead to crashes.
Of the 583 vehicles inspected, 16 were issued Defect Notice Infringements for matters that would concern any reasonable road user such as vehicles without windows, all bald tyres, trailers and cars without lights and vehicles with jagged protrusions that could cause injury to other road users.
TMR issued 16 Defects, 10 Traffic Infringement Notices (TINS) and 1 Formal Warning.
We conducted 583 Roadside Breath Tests (RBTs) and 5 Roadside Drug Tests (RDTs).
Some of the infringements and results from this operation included four speed infringements, one BAC drive, one drug drive (methamphetamine), two unlicensed drive (1 forfeiture proceeding) and one drug offender (Possess Dangerous Drug).
