On Sunday September 30, Inner West Police along with other QPS members from the Bomb Squad, Forensic Unit, Police Dog Squad and Road Policing Unit attended and supported the Stand Tall For Post Traumatic (PTS) Awareness Day.
The event was held at the West’s Rugby Union Club Grounds at Toowong.
It was also supported by numerous units from the Australian Defence Force, Queensland Fire and Rescue Service, Queensland Ambulance Service and other PTS support groups (such as PTSD Dogs Australia).
The aim of the day was to raise public awareness and support our brave men and women, (who are serving or have served) in our armed forces and emergency services, and are suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorders.
The event provided members of the community the opportunity to speak personally to Defence and Emergency Service personnel, learn about the effects of PTS and show their support to those who are suffering from PTSD.
The community were also given the opportunity to check out first hand military hardware, police assets and capabilities
