Traffic operations to reduce road trauma in the Inner West

Police from the Inner West Patrol Group are conducting a series of  partnership operations with Road Policing Command, SPER and Transport and Main Roads Inspectors to target drink and drug driving and defective vehicle offences.
The aim of these coordinated operations is to reduce road trauma due to traffic crashes caused by driver behaviours or faulty motor vehicles.
The targeting of locations is Intelligence-based and is shown to be effective, as police are removing a number of drug drivers.
Removing drug drivers from our suburban streets is especially important, as this is certainly something that benefits everyone’s safety.
If people drive with illegal substances in their system, police will locate these offenders and they will face consequences.
On Wednesday September 12, a successful 3 hour traffic operation was conducted within the Ferny Grove Police Division.
