Police officer suspended, Brisbane Region

A 30-year-old male detective senior constable from Brisbane Region has been suspended from the Queensland Police Service.
The officer is being investigated in relation to the access and release of official and confidential information without an official purpose related to the performance of his duties as a member of the Queensland Police Service.
The officer has also been issued with a Notice to Appear for the criminal charge of Computer Hacking, section 408E of the Criminal Code and is to appear before the Brisbane Magistrates Court on September 11, 2018.
In keeping with our commitment to high standards of behaviour, transparency and accountability, we have undertaken to inform the public when an officer faces serious allegations of misconduct. This does not mean that the allegations against the officer have been substantiated.
