Last week celebrated the 2018 National Volunteers Week. The Queensland Police Service (QPS) marked this occasion by celebrating 20 years of Volunteers in Policing (ViP).
The celebration included recognising the tireless and dedicated service provided by our ViPs.
The ViP’s program sees civilian volunteers based in local police establishments throughout Queensland, working with police officers to assist with customer service, community safety and crime prevention needs in the community.
The Inner West Patrol Group is fortunate and privileged to have the support of four dedicated ViPs; Alex, Robyn, Dayle and Nichol.
Their service is invaluable in assisting police with achieving its strategic goals, liaising with victims of crime and assisting with public engagement commitments.
To thank our ViPs, along with the other dedicated North Brisbane District ViPs, a special awards ceremony was held at the Brisbane Water Police Unit on Thursday, May 24.
During this award ceremony our ViP’s were personally presented with badges and Certificates of Appreciation by Assistant Commissioner Brian Wilkins.
