Police from the Inner West Patrol Group are advising residents that thieves have within the recent week, targeted homes and vehicles in the following Inner West areas:
Arana Hills:
Reginald Avenue and Eveleigh Street
Chapel Hill:
Kirkdale Road, Lomandra Place and Henry Street
Everton Hills:
Bunya Road and Acacia Street
Everton Park:
Queens Road, Griffin Road and Braidwood Street
Keperra:
Eidsvold Street
Indooroopilly:
Ward Street and Volga Crescent
Mitchelton:
University Road
Taringa:
Ada Street, Moore Street and Alexandra Avenue
The Gap:
Donegal Place
Toowong:
Elizabeth Street, Terrace Street and Ascog Terrace
Thieves are mainly stealing car keys and then vehicles, laptops, wallets, handbags and jewellery.
The main method that thieves are using to gain entry is by climbing through windows or walking through unlocked doors (including garage doors). These methods at times are occurring while the residents are home, which are called “sneak breaks”.
