On February 28, Ferny Grove Police in partnership with the local Road Policing Unit and the Roadside Drug Testing Unit, conducted a significant roadside drug and alcohol testing operation within Everton Park.
Eight officers stopped and breath tested 400 drivers and drug tested 17 drivers which resulted in seven traffic infringement notices and three notice to appears issued for traffic matters.
It is important for the community to remember that police will intercept drivers for the purpose of a roadside breath or drug test any time, day or night. If you intend to consume alcohol, then don’t drive. You are putting yourself and other road users at risk and you will be caught.
