As part of November’s White Ribbon activities, Inner West Patrol Group Domestic and Family Violence Liaison Officer Sergeant Roger O’Malia and Volunteer in Policing Glennys Berry recently helped with the Orange the World campaign at the Chermside Shopping Centre.
Orange the World is a 16-day global campaign of activism against gender violence between November 25 and December 10. The campaign raises awareness about violence against women and its impact on a woman’s physical, psychological, social and spiritual well-being.
“We wanted to hand out domestic violence pamphlets and brochures to every shop, both for staff and any customers who may be interested,” Sergeant O’Malia said.
“I was very pleased just how enthusiastic everyone was and how receptive they were to the information.”
White Ribbon Day is on November 25 and support the end of violence against women both in Australia and abroad.
