On Saturday September 2, police from the Inner West Patrol Group attended the Chapel Hill State Primary School Festival on the Hill to conduct proactive community engagement and provide police support to this popular community event.
During the event, police took the opportunity to promote road safety to the junior members of the public.
Topics discussed included not distracting mum and dad whilst they were driving, being a safe and responsible passenger by wearing their seat belts at all times and not placing any portion of their body outside the window of a vehicle.
Police also took the opportunity to break down the barriers and fear of young members being afraid of Police.
This was achieved by talking to them in the company of their parents and explaining that the Police were their friends and were there to help them when they were in need.
