Operation Papa Newfoundland 3

Operation Papa Newfoundland 3 was a combined operation utilising staff from state and local traffic units, Drug Detection dogs, officers from the Centenary and Inner West Patrol Groups and the Queensland Department of Transport Vehicle Inspectors to close down a lane of the Centenary Motorway with a focus on driver safety, vehicle road worthiness and to deter drug and drink driving.

Overall, the operation was successful with quantities of drugs being seized and charges laid with regards to drink and drug driving, unlicensed driving, drug supply, drug possession and other offences.
A number of vehicles were also defected due to mechanical issues.

The Drug Detector police dog had a 100% success rate in detection and the overall sentiment from the public was positive towards the activity by police.
