Keeping kids safe at the Ekka

The first day at the Ekka proved to be the perfect start, sunny without a cloud to be seen and the smell of the hot and tasty dagwood dogs.
Police and volunteers got to meet families and school groups at the Ekka Police Station on Gregory Terrace and the RACQ Animal Nursery marquee providing free wristbands for children.
Look for the police and sign on Gregory Terrace
Police request that parents attend either of the “Keep kids safe” sites at the Ekka to collect a free wristband with the parent’s mobile numbers on the inside, just in case their little one wandered off in the crowd.
While collecting your wristbands police can help to teach the children how to identified a police officer and how to find them if the child becomes lost.
