Back in June this year Ironside State School, in Saint Lucia, was broken into and eight musical instruments were stolen, mainly cellos and double basses.
A teacher from the school spotted an advertisement on an online classifieds website a few weeks later with these instruments listed for sale. They were able to identify the instruments by the markings on them.
The teacher contacted the seller and was able to obtain details including their address and phone number. The teacher then passed this information onto Indooroopilly Police and a search of the address was conducted that same day.
Five of the instruments were recovered, but three are still outstanding (believed to have been sold already via that online classifieds website).
An 18-year-old man was arrested for the break and enter of the school, fraud and drug offences after police allegedly located dangerous drugs, drug utensils and steroids at the dwelling. He will appear in the
