Every August, the Inner West Patrol Group Domestic and Family Violence Coordinator Sergeant Roger O’Malia joins together with Moira Flynn of the Ashgrove Ladies Quilting Circle to donate some magnificent hand crafted quilts to the Windanah domestic violence refuge.
“We started doing this about eight years ago when I found out that some of the children at the refuge were cold at night as they didn’t have warm blankets,” Sergeant O’Malia said.
“It was then Moira kindly volunteered the service of the quilters!”
This year Sergeant O’Malia and Moira donated over 40 quilts and blankets to the refuge.
