‘Lock it or Lose it’ checks Indooroopilly

On Friday July, 28 police from the Inner West Patrol Group conducted a Rail Operation at Indooroopilly Railway Station. As part of the Operation Police Officers from the Inner West Crime Prevention Unit conducted a ‘Lock it or Lose it’ check of vehicles parked within the vicinity of the railway station and surrounding back streets.
Of the vehicles checked, the majority were found to be secure, however, a number of vehicles were found to be unlocked, allowing unimpeded and unauthorised access into these vehicles.
In addition to this, a number of secured vehicles were observed to have in open view, valuable and attractive items. These items included laptops, GPS, mobile phones, handbags, household keys, coins, personal documents and insecure tools in the rear trays of utilities.
The vehicles identified to be insecure were left with a friendly note from police in relation to the insecurity.
Police request that drivers/passengers please remove the temptation from thieves,
