Ferny Grove officers receive bronze bravery award

A number of police officers from the Queensland Police Service recently attended an award ceremony to receive bravery awards from the Royal Humane Society of Australasia.

The following four officers are from the Ferny Grove Police Station; Sergeant Robert Colthorpe, Detective Senior Constable Martin Payne, Plain Clothes Senior Constable Stephen Pelzer and Constable Connor Cunneen were the recipients of the Bronze Bravery Medal.
These four officers, along with two members from the Australian Defence Force, Major Scott Hill and Sergeant Alain Fricotte, received the Bronze Bravery Medal for their acts of bravery during the rescue of an elderly gentleman from a residential house fire in Mitchelton in April, 2015.
The actual wording of their bravery award read:
 ‘In going to the rescue of an elderly man from his burning house at Mitchelton, Qld on 9 April 2015.
