Police support the Active School Travel Program in Moggill

Today marked the start of the Moggill State School’s Active School Travel Program (AST). The AST program offers Brisbane primary schools a suite of free resources, tools and incentives to enable students, parents and teachers to leave the car at home and actively travel to school. It’s all about creating healthier, more active students and parents, greater road safety awareness among students and families, and safer streets and reduced traffic congestion at the school gate. The award-winning program promotes road safety and sustainable and healthy travel modes such as walking, cycling, scootering, carpooling and public transport.
Students got right behind this initiative participating in great numbers for day one of the program. The Queensland Police Mounted Unit and officers on bicycles provided a safe and fun route for students and parents to follow.
This program runs for the entire school year and encourages students to be more active to and from school.
