Police have charged a 36-year-old woman following investigations into the fatal stabbing of a 35-year-old man in Chapel Hill.
It will be alleged around 9pm yesterday an altercation between a man and a woman—who are known to one another—has occurred at a residence on Fig Tree Pocket Road. During this altercation the man sustained a serious injury to the chest.
The man received medical treatment at the scene but passed away as a result of his injuries.
A 36-year-old Chapel Hill woman was taken into custody and has subsequently been charged with one count of murder.
She is due to appear in the Brisbane Magistrates Court today.

Initial investigations indicate that around 9pm yesterday an altercation between a man and a woman—who are known to one another—has occurred at a residence on Fig Tree Pocket Road. During this altercation the man sustained a serious injury to the chest.
The man received medical treatment at the scene but passed away as a result of his injuries.
A 36-year-old woman was taken into custody and a crime scene declared.

Armed robbery, Norman Park
Police are investigating an armed robbery of a business in Norman Park yesterday evening.
Around 9:15pm, a man armed with a weapon has entered a store on Bennetts Road and placed a bag on the counter before demanding the male shop assistant place money into the bag.
The assistant complied and the armed man has then left the shop towards Milsom Street.
Police located a number of items believed to be involved in the incident nearby, including clothing and a knife.
The man is described as Caucasian in appearance, around 195cm tall, with a tanned complexion and a long, gaunt face.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have dash-cam vision from the area to contact police.

Lock up your trailer
Update, December 20: Police would like to report that since this article was published yesterday, a further two trailers have been stolen; one from Auchenflower and the other from Ashgrove.
Police report a recent increase in the theft of trailers, caravans and camper trailers across the Inner West area with 11 stolen over the past few weeks.
Offenders are targeting trailered vehicles including tool trailers, camper trailers, trailered boats and caravans particularly during the night.
Suburbs currently affected by the thefts include Everton Park, Bardon, Ashgrove, Toowong, Indooroopilly and Auchenflower area.
Police appeal for the community to secure trailers, camper trailers, trailered boats and caravans using security devices available through local hardware and vehicle accessory stores.
In most cases, trailers were secured only by a chain and padlock and offenders have cut the chain and stolen the trailer.
Trailer owners are urged to avoid leaving trailers parked in front yards or on the street, instead parking
Appeal for witnesses following traffic crash, Kenmore
Police are appealing for witnesses following a traffic crash at Kenmore on December 18.
At around 9.10am a white Holden utility drove out of Kenmore Shopping Centre at the corner of Cedarleigh Road and Marshall Lane onto Moggill Road.
It is believed the vehicle then travelled over the centre median strip and collided with a blue Jeep.
Both cars sustained extensive damage as a result of the crash.
Police are appealing for anyone who may have been in the vicinity at the time and witnessed the incident, or anyone who may have dashcam vision to contact Policelink or Crime Stoppers.

Pedaleurs de Charme cycling group show support for Mt Zero
Police from the Inner West Patrol Group conducted the Mt Zero campaign on the weekend, spreading road safety messages to all road users.
Officers attended the Brisbane West region to share important information in relation to the Mt Zero campaign that aims to reduce accidents and fatalities on the roads.
The campaign raises awareness of the dangers of Mt Nebo and Mt Glorious roads with common factors contributing to accidents on these roads being speed, lack of rider experience, rider/driver error, motorcycle visibility and collision with other vehicles.
Police will continue to remind all road users on the dangers of the mountain roads they are about to experience.
We would like to thank the Pedaleurs de Charme cycling group, who were in the area training for a cycling trek across Tasmania in February, for their support of the campaign. We’d like to wish the cycling group safe travels on there adventure in Tasmania.

Deputy Commissioner Brett Pointing to leave the Queensland Police Service
Deputy Commissioner Brett Pointing has today announced he will leave the Queensland Police Service (QPS) after a 40-year career.
Deputy Commissioner Pointing will take leave from today and officially separate from the QPS in March 2018.
Commissioner Ian Stewart thanked Deputy Commissioner Pointing for his contribution to the QPS.
“Brett has been a valued member of the Executive Leadership Team as deputy commissioner for the past five years and I wish him all the very best for the future, wherever that may take him,” Commissioner Stewart said.
“Brett has taken on a number of significant portfolios over this time and has made a significant contribution to policing in Queensland.”
Deputy Commissioner Pointing said he had enjoyed a policing career which included being stationed in Ipswich, Goondiwindi, Toowoomba, Roma, Rockhampton and the Gold Coast.
“It has been a wonderful career over 40 years,” Deputy Commissioner Pointing said.

Mt Zero visit this weekend
Police from the Inner West Patrol Group will hold events for the Mt Zero campaign this weekend at Mt Coot-tha Lookout on Saturday morning with police spreading road safety messages to road users that meet there.
Sunday morning, officers will attend the Mt Nebo Café between 8am and 8.30am and then to Mt Glorious Café between 9am and 9.30am.
Mt Zero is a campaign created to raise awareness of the dangers of the Mt Coot-tha, Mt Nebo and Mt Glorious roads. Common causal factors contributing to accidents on these roads were speed, lack of rider experience, rider error, motorcycle visibility and collision with other vehicles.
Police will continue to remind all road users on the dangers of the mountain roads they are about to experience. The aim of the campaign is to reduce accidents and fatalities on these roads.
Police hope to speak with local residents, motorcycle riders, cyclists and drivers about sharing the road safely.

Appeal for assistance: Indecent assault, Hervey Bay and Brisbane areas
Brisbane Detectives are appealing for public assistance to identify victims and employers of a man suspected of indecently assaulting numerous women in the Hervey Bay, Maryborough and the wider Brisbane area between 2000 and 2016.
It is believed the man worked as a masseuse, as a sole operator and also employed by massage and chiropractic businesses in the Hervey Bay and Maryborough area between 2000 to 2012 and in the Brisbane area between 2012 to 2016.
Investigations indicate that during this time, the man indecently assaulted numerous women whilst they received massage treatments.
The man is described as being aged between 50 and 65-years-of-age and has long grey hair which he wears in a ponytail.
Detectives are appealing to any members of the public who may have been assaulted by this man or any employers who offer massage treatment that may have employed this man to contact either the Acacia Ridge or Carseldine Criminal
