Have a fang-tastic Halloween!

Next week, little zombies, ghosts and witches will take to the streets for Halloween trick or treating.
We understand that not everybody celebrates this fang-tastic night, so we have created some posters that you can display on your door or in a prominent position at your home, indicating whether or not you welcome trick or treaters, or don’t wish to be disturbed.
Click here to download a colour copy of the trick or treaters are welcome here sign, or click here for black and white.
Alternatively, click here for the no thanks poster.

While we all love a good scare, the Queensland Police Service wants to remind community members to creep it real and ensure the safety of children is top priority.
To make sure your Halloween doesn’t become a nightmare, trick or treaters should:

Be accompanied by a trusted, responsible adult monster at all times;
Always walk, not run, between houses and stick to the footpath rather

Assault, Brisbane CBD

Police are seeking assistance to identify a man who assaulted another man in Brisbane last month.
Just before 5pm on September 24, two men were walking along George Street when one man has tried to pass the other, who was on his phone.
The 45-year-old man inadvertently clipped the man’s shoe which has caused the man to turn and strike him in the face.
He then continued to verbally abuse the man before walking off.
The 45-year-old sustained injuries to his jaw as a result of the strike.
Anyone who can identify the man is urged to come forward to police.

Officers take home silver medal in the Head of the Brisbane rowing challenge

On Saturday, October 19, the inaugural ‘Emergency Services Regatta’ was held during the Toowong Rowing Club’s ‘Head of the Brisbane’ regatta event.
The idea for the race came from the Toowong Rowing Club and they assisted with training sessions for all the crews.
Some of the rowers had previous rowing experience whilst others were new to the sport.
The race consisted of three boats representing the Queensland Police Service (QPS), Queensland Ambulance Service (QAS) and Queensland Fire and Emergency Service (QFES).
The race was the last event of the regatta and was well supported, despite the inclement weather conditions that morning.
The 700 metre race was won by the QFES team, QPS coming second and the QAS team finishing third.

A great experience for all involved and a big thank you to Janelle Filkin from the Toowong Rowing Club for her perseverance and determination in getting this race off the ground.
Another thank
