The upgrade at Brookfield Reserve on Boscombe Road involves replacing the existing playground and installing a new pathway. According to the BCC project page, construction began on 23 February 2026 and is scheduled to continue until 10 July 2026.
In an update shared on 26 June, Cr Greg Adermann said the project was progressing well, while noting that further weather delays could affect the completion date.

“Exciting news for Brookfield families! Work is progressing well on the Brookfield Reserve playground upgrade,” Cr Adermann said. He said that, provided there were no further weather delays, the playground was expected to be finished around Friday, 3 July.
“Our Parks team is working hard on the final touches, and we look forward to seeing the community enjoying this new space soon,” he said.
The project is listed as one of Brisbane City’s minor park upgrades. BCC’s project page states the works include replacing the existing playground and installing a new pathway. Brisbane City’s published construction schedule indicates the project is due to finish in July, subject to site conditions and construction progress.
The latest update from Cr Adermann suggests the project remains on track, with weather continuing to be the main factor that could affect the completion date.

Once works are complete, the upgraded playground and new pathway will open for community use. Until then, residents are encouraged to observe any temporary signage and barriers in place around the construction area.
The upgrade forms part of Brisbane City’s ongoing program of minor park improvements across the city, with Brookfield residents expected to soon benefit from renewed play facilities and improved park infrastructure.
